Fundraising for BRAF-specific Research

Breaking BRAF is a patient organisation and not a charity. Our own aims are to provide relatable, understandable, accurate and up-to-date information about BRAF-mutated Bowel Cancer, treatments and diagnostics, and to campaign for change where better services and treatments are or should be available.
However, that doesn't mean we don't want to raise very-much needed funds for research into the BRAF mutation. We have worked with several charities over several years but early BRAF-specific research (ie. that which isn't yet part of a treatment trial) has been scarce.
In July 2026, we were made aware of an exciting new BRAF-focussed project sponsored by Bowel Research UK and undertaken by a team led by Dr Erica Oliveira at the Institute of Cancer Research. They asked if we would like to fundraise to assist the funding of this project and we jumped at the chance.

We are encouraging everyone to get involved, by donating, by sharing our JustGiving page with friends and family, or by organising a fundraising event. We can accept corporate matched funding and can provide a direct payment method to Bowel Research UK (bypassing JustGiving) for this purpose - just contact us for more details.
You can find more details of this exciting project on our JustGiving page, which can be found by clicking 'donate' below.
