Our Mission & Purpose
UK Bowel Cancer patients with a BRAF mutation deserve:

-
earlier diagnosis
-
better access to treatment and diagnostics
-
more gene-specific research
-
better access to existing drug trials
-
earlier access to new drugs
We won't stop until we achieve these objectives.

Breaking BRAF is a UK-based patient and carer support group, set up with the aim of creating much more awareness of BRAF-mutated bowel cancer.

We aim to provide patient and carer information and, of course, support. But we also campaign with the ambition of getting more funding allocated specifically to this very hard-to-treat cancer, better access to trials and quicker access to upcoming approved drugs.

Breaking BRAF was the combined vision of UK patients Clare Fowler, Andy Harrison and Clare Mariconda.
We also give our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the three additional people who propelled Breaking BRAF into the group it is today, with their endless campaigning, research and support:
Helen Canning, Mark Butcher and Angela Ellis.
Without these wonderful humans, Breaking BRAF would not be here today. Every one a legend, determined to change the status quo, they offered hope through supporting, informing and campaigning, so that one day there would be better understanding, more treatments and even a cure for BRAF-mutated Bowel Cancer. We were honoured to work with them and we carry on their passion, vision and mission.
